Broken glass at the skate park
On Sunday morning broken glass and bottles were discovered on the skate park ramps and surrounding areas by a nearby resident. The resident became aware of the issue as one of their child’s friends was cut. Children and young people use the skate park to play – we do not appreciate this anti social behaviour.
The glass is extremely difficult to clear up as the shards are very small. Thank you to the resident that spent a large part of Sunday morning sweeping the glass to one side and under the ramps to avoid other being injured. The Parish Council cleared the glass on Monday but would urge residents to be mindful as this might happen again. We do not employ ground staff so this is all done through volunteers.
The glass and bottles included cider and a bottle of vodka. We don’t know if this was a case of underage drinking but would like parents to be aware.
If anyone witnesses or has information on this anti-social behaviour or selling of alcohol to minors please report this to the police on 101.
