What a fantastic evening we shared at the Grayshott at Christmas Lights Switch-On last Saturday, 29th November. The village was buzzing with festive spirit as more than 800 of you came out to enjoy the celebrations and help Santa illuminate our famous Christmas lights.
Visitors were treated to brilliant live performances on stage, funfair rides and games for all ages, and an incredible Christmas market packed with talented local suppliers and community organisations. The atmosphere was joyful from start to finish.
Despite the awful weather, our brilliant team of volunteers, stallholders, and organisers battled wind and rain right up until moments before the event began. Their determination and good humour kept the spirit of the day alive, ensuring the village was ready to welcome everyone the second the skies cleared.
A huge thank you goes to all our market stall holders, we had a selection from our local businesses and community organisations as well as professional suppliers from the Hampshire Farmers Market Association .
We’re also grateful to Grayshott Pottery and our District Councillor, Tom Hanrahan, whose generous grants helped make the event possible.
Our thanks extend to the Fox & Pelican team for their help with organisation—and for providing Santa with a safe new home when his original grotto blew down in the stormy weather. And, as always, we are grateful to Peter Leete for powering some of our Christmas lights display.
Finally, an enormous thank you to the incredible volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Your dedication and community spirit made this one of our best events yet.
See you next year for more festive magic!
