Farnborough Airport – Update from Grayshott Parish Council
A planning application has now been submitted by Farnborough Airport proposing increased weekend and bank-holiday flight activity. The key change is a rise in the non-weekday flight cap from 8,900 to 13,500, along with an increased allowance for larger aircraft. The overall annual limit of 50,000 flights remains unchanged.
Grayshott Parish Council (GPC) has opposed the increase in weekend flights due to the direct impact on our community, which lies beneath the airport’s inbound flight path. More frequent aircraft movements would significantly reduce the gaps between overhead flights, particularly during summer weekends.
GPC supports the proposal to raise the limit for lighter aircraft, and we welcome the creation of a Social Value Fund and improvements to the Community Environment Fund, both of which could benefit the wider area.
