Get to Know Your Parish Council: Grayshott’s Community Assets
One of the Parish Council’s key roles is looking after the many community assets that make Grayshott such a special place to live. Some are well known and well loved; others quietly support everyday village life. All are cared for on behalf of the whole community.
Many of these spaces were gifted or left in trust by previous generations of villagers. We continue that legacy by maintaining, improving, and planning so they can be enjoyed into the future.
Greens, Open Spaces and Planting
Grayshott has two village greens at its heart, providing open, flexible spaces for events and informal recreation. The Council also owns a large meadow at Applegarth, offering open space for walking and spotting wildlife.

Play, Sport and Recreation
Supporting healthy, active lifestyles is important to us. The Council looks after four play areas for children of different ages, a Multi‑Use Games Area (MUGA) and a skate park, all of which are well used by local families and young people.
The recreation ground is another valued community hub, with a pavilion used by clubs and groups and neighbouring tennis courts that host activity throughout the year.

Allotments and Growing Together
We manage two allotment sites in the village, both popular with residents. As well as providing space to grow food, the allotments bring people together and help build strong community connections.
Memorials and Landmarks
The Parish Council cares for our important memorials to war heroes, the millennium and Queen Elizabeth II. These landmarks form an important part of Grayshott’s shared history.

Looking Ahead
We are currently working with Hampshire County Council regarding ownership of the village bus shelters and have secured a £15,000 grant to replace the shelter at Waggoners Bend, hopefully this summer. We are also exploring the possible transfer of the village car parks and will soon be asking for residents’ views.
We always welcome ideas, feedback and suggestions. Your Parish Council is here to look after Grayshott—today and for the future.
