Glass recycling problems

Due to staff shortages- namely HGV drivers which is a nationwide issue at present- glass collections in EHDC were suspended to prioritise refuse and recycling collections.

 

What was initially thought to be a short-term issue became an ongoing operational issue, so for the time being residents are advised to use bottle banks if possible.

 

The timing of this issue is unfortunate as it coincides with the removal of the Applegarth bottle bank, meaning the closest for Grayshott residents is now located in Lindford.

EHDC have instructed crews to clear any excess that is presented in suitable containers (that are of similar capacity to the original box) on the next scheduled collection, so long as these are not too heavy & overfilled for the crew to manually handle.

 

EHDC policy is that missed bins must be reported by 4pm on the next working day after your scheduled collection. You can report a missed collection via your “MyEHDC account” or calling 01730 234295. If you do not report a missed collection to us within this timeframe, you will have to wait until your next scheduled collection.
