Grayshott Gardens’ Gates were open wide…
The twenty nine Hidden Gardens of Grayshott were revealed to over 1100 visitors over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend and a phenomenal £10,000 raised to be re-sown into the village community horticultural projects of Grayshott. Congratulations all round to the visitors, embracing the less than clement weather, our stalwart gardeners for the same, to our generous supporters, Warren Powell Richards and Grayshott Pottery for making this the exceptional success it has been, breaking all previous records in garden shed loads!
This is truly an exceptional village event and highlights the great community of Grayshott, everyone taking to foot with programme and map in hand to explore the diverse and different gardens and allotment sites on offer, all taking time to chat to one another; not only opening their gardens, but their hearts as well, to all comers. The atmosphere was infectious!
Warren Powell Richards have supported this event with great generosity, enabling us to divert some of our set-up costs and return more to the community in the future; how lucky are we all! Grayshott Pottery, celebrating their 50th year in Grayshott, inspired the Bulldog Hunt for all the children which was hugely enjoyed especially with the motivation of a Meadow Cottage ice cream at the end!
The Hidden Gardens of Grayshott really appreciate their support as well as the very many other village businesses that were behind us by advertising, contributing to the tombola and doing the most amazing window displays to promote this biennial event. Exceptional thanks to Ludshott Photographic group who not only displayed their wonderful photographs in the Church Hall, but have undertaken the challenging task of being official photographers to the Hidden Gardens of Grayshott…no pressure!
The Funds raised in 2015 were donated to the hanging baskets that adorn the village annually, to Grayshott Primary School to provide primary school sized tools for their burgeoning gardening club, to Donnec Mews to create sensory garden, replanting of the flower beds by Lloyds bank, the new tree by Sainsburys…the list goes on and it keeps Grayshott blooming wonderful.

We re-issue THANKS to all involved:- the countless volunteers at the Box Office, serving and clearing teas (we even saw the village butcher clearing tables), the small and the mighty, the plants and lastly but not least to nature for giving us this amazing abundance to enjoy.
