Join us for a magical journey down the Yellow Brick Road in this enchanting stage production of The Wizard of Oz!
Young Dorothy is swept away by a tornado from her Kansas farm to the magical land of Oz. There, she encounters a host of whimsical characters.
This playful musical adaptation of L Frank Baum’s celebrated novel follows Dorothy’s journey to Oz with the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion. There are events not seen in the classic MGM film, and you’ll meet new characters like Farmhand Joe, Gloria of Oz, Tibia (the witch’s skeletal assistant), two comical neighbouring witches, and the Royal Army of Oz.
You’ll hear all the well known songs from the film: “Over the Rainbow,” “Munchkinland (Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead),” “If I Only Had a Brain/A Heart/The Nerve,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard (Follow the Yellow Brick Road),” and “The Merry Old Land of Oz.” Plus songs that were cut from the final film.
We’re looking forward to bringing the Yellow Brick Road and the Emerald City to Grayshott.
Performances are at Grayshott Village Hall on Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 May at 7:30 pm, with a matinée on the 23rd at 2:30 pm. For more details, visit www.thegrayshottstagers.co.uk
