Grayshott’s Millennium Sign
20 years have flown by since the 2000 Millennium and the memorable celebrations held in Grayshott Village on the 24th June 2000.
I am pleased to say that a book has been published about the Grayshott Village Millennium Sign, now considered by many as the ‘Millennium Sculpture’ which is sited on the village green opposite the War Memorial at the Five Ways Junction.
About 8 years ago Pam McNicol who was on the Millennium Committee gave me a draft copy she had put together relating to the background and the making of the Millennium Sign and the celebrations that were held in the village on that memorable June day in 2000 with the idea of recording it in print.
Very sadly Pam is no longer with us but so as to recognise the vast amount of time she had put in over recording the work by everyone involved leading up to the 24th June 2000 and on the day I have taken it upon myself with help from my son Tim to publish and print a limited number of books which will be given free to people who were involved with the Grayshott 2000 Celebrations.
The book is also available for download for those that are interested. A PDF version of the book is attached to this new item.
There are a few folk that were involved over the Millennium celebrations which I have lost contact with so please contact me if you want your free copy of the book at philbates@woodyhyde.com.
