New book release (local interest)

The Mattress Turner of Twigmere is Rebecca J. Cunningham’s 9th novel.

The story tells of the fortunes and calamites of five generations of a Surrey family who own a bedding store, and their loyal customers.

Each struggling proprietor encounters a travelling mattress turner, who promises longevity and prosperity in exchange for their custom. For those who accept, business thrives. Word soon spreads to London and beyond. Customers seeking the mystical benefits of a turned mattress travel from across the land to Twigmere. But can this renewed vigour and youthfulness simply be due to a seasonal lift, or is there something more to perfect sleep? The mattress turner himself, perhaps?

At his age, he does know a thing or two.

Now it’s 2014 and our newest and youngest proprietor may be waking up to something…

This comic and lively tale offers a surprisingly unsettling turn…..
