No prizes for spotting the new sign at Waggoners Wells

The water measure sign was installed at the ford last week and has drawn considerable comment. The Parish Council has been in touch with the National Trust Area Rangers and they were not aware of its installation.  The sign is on a weighted stand.  HCC Highways have confirmed that it is a countrywide requirement for depth gauges to be installed at all highway fords.  Our comments are being passed to the team responsible and we will wait to see if an alternative sign can be installed.
