PUBLIC CONSULTATION – Commemorating the Queen’s 70-year reign
As we approach the first anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Parish Council have been giving some thought to how best to commemorate the Queen’s 70-year reign. The Council’s thoughts are that it would be appropriate to have a memorial in the village paid for by public donations. However, ahead of a final decision, the Council wishes to seek the views of the village via a public consultation around four questions:
- Do you support the idea of a memorial to the late Queen?
- If there is to be a memorial, should it be a physical artwork, such as a sculpture or an engraved stone?
- Where should it be located? Two obvious options are the Village Square or Lyndon Green, but you may have other suggestions?
- Should any memorial be paid for by public donations or by the Council?
Please let us know your thoughts by Friday 29th September by completing and submitting the response form below:
