Village Litter Pick on Sunday 26th March at 10am in support of the Great British Spring Clean 2023

Grayshott Parish Council is organising a Village Litter Pick on Sunday 26th March at 10am in support of the Great British Spring Clean 2023.  We will be concentrating efforts on the centre of the Village so if you can join us for an hour or two please meet us at the Headley Road Car Park at 10am.  We will divide volunteers into teams for litter picking.  We have some equipment but please bring what you can, particularly gloves.

If you are unable to join us on Sunday perhaps you could find another time over the coming week to litter pick in your street.

Research conducted by Keep Britain Tidy shows more than 8.5 million adults in the UK have done litter-picking at least once in the past six months.   Less than half of UK adults (43%) currently agree that they feel proud of their community but 85% of those who took part in last year’s Great British Spring Clean reported that taking part made them feel more pride in their local area. And 74% said it improved their mood too!

Please help us keep the village clean, tidy and litter free resulting in a more pleasant environment for everyone and its wildlife to live in.

We have registered our event with East Hampshire District Council as part of their new spring clean-up campaign and their contractors will collect and dispose of our rubbish bags after our litter pick.  Lets make sure we can provide a lorry load!

Thank you
