To all residents of Grayshott
We invite you to attend your Village Assembly this coming Friday. So what is a Village Assembly? To put it simply it is a meeting for all residents of Grayshott to come together to discuss matters affecting our village. We have not been able to hold this event during the last two years so we are keen to gather our community together! The evening provides the opportunity to hear from your parish council, your district and county councillors, a guest speaker (see below), a number of community organisations including what’s on offer for our younger residents and finally to learn about the activities taking place locally over the Platinum Jubilee Weekend.
The evening starts at 7pm and it is being held at Grayshott Village Hall.
Our guest speaker is Major Mani Rai MBE, HM Deputy-Lieutenant of Hampshire. In this very special year of celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we thought it most apt and an honour to invite Mani to speak on his role as Deputy-Lieutenant.
Before the more formal part of the evening starts at 7.30pm, and during an interval, there will be an opportunity to talk informally with your councillors and your fellow residents. PC Kirsty Westropp and PCSO Ben Besley also hope to join us. The following local groups/organisations will be exhibiting in the hall:
Grayshott Primary School
Grayshott Community Library
Haslemere hoppa
Grayshott Scout Group
The Hunter Centre
Grayshott & District Housing Association
St Joseph’s Catholic Church
Grayshott Gardeners
St Luke’s Church
I’m All Ears
There are a number of reports that we invite you to review prior to the evening. These are attached at the end of this news item and include:
- the agenda for the evening
- the minutes of the assembly held in 2019!
- the parish council Chairman’s Report and Finance Report
- Reports from Cllr Debbie Curnow-Ford (HCC) and Cllr Tom Hanrahan (EHDC).
Refreshments will be available before and during the interval. So please do join us and take the opportunity to ask questions over a glass of wine.
